Weekend update on severe weather conditions 03/12/2010 @ 17.00pm

Due to the freeze, residents are still advised not to undertake unecessary journeys by car as general road conditions remain poor. Gritting operations are however continuing on a daily basis and major routes are much improved as of today.

Salt supplies are currently adequate but must be carefully managed to ensure that we can continue to deal with priority routes however long the cold weather continues. The National Roads Authority (NRA) is working closely with local authorities to ensure this.
