Water Off - Tuesday 26th June 2012 - Sandycove Area

Unfortunately, this job has gone on longer than expected  - it is hoped that water will be turned back on around 6.00 p.m. 

The Council apologises for this inconvenience and the delay in turning the water back on.

Please note it may take longer for the water to reach some households as the mains needs to refill. 


Due to essential maintenance, the following areas will experience disruption to their water supply:-

  • Breffni Road (between Sandycove Avenue East & Harbour Road)
  • Castlepark Road (including School)
  • Castle Close
  • Elton Park
  • Elton Court
  • Dundela Park
  • Dundela Avenue
  • Dundela Haven
  • Castlepark Road (north of Dundela Park)
  • St. Margaret's Close
The Council regrets this unavoidable disruption to the water supply and assures consumers that any inconvenience will be kept to a minimum.

Water Disruption - Ballymonduff - Update @ 4.00 pm Friday 22.06.12

Due to ongoing weather conditions you are hereby given notice that the public water supply to the Ballymonduff area may be intermittent over the coming days especially during the night from 8.00pm to 8.00 am.

If disruptions are set to continue during the day, water bowsers will be present at the Blue Light Pub and at the fountain close to Vard’s Lane on the Ballymonduff Road.

The Local Authority regrets any inconvenience caused to customers by these interruptions of water supply and will ensure normal supply is restored as quickly as possible.

Water Disruption - Corbawn, Shankill Friday 15th June 2012

Due to a burst watermain the water has been turned off in the Corbawn Estate area of Shankill in order to necessitate repair.  This may cause loss of pressure or no water in the immediate and surrounding areas, including Corbawn Glade, Corbawn Avenue and Corbawn Lane.

The crew are currently on site repairing the main and it is hoped to have the water restored as soon as possible.  Unfortunately, an exact time when water will be restored cannot be given at this stage.

We apologise for this disruption to the water supply.

Water disruption - Corbawn, Shankill 11th June 2012 @ 14.55

Due to a burst water main, water has been disrupted in the Corbawn area of Shankill. 

The Water Services Crew are currently on site repairing the main, at this stage it is not possible to give an exact time when water will be restored.

Monday 11th June 2012 - Wyattville & Loughlinstown Area 14.50 pm

Update 17.00 hrs - The Water Crew are still on site repairing the broken main. 

Our Water Inspectors have informed us that water will not be restored until 22.00 hrs this evening, as this is a major burst.

The Council apologises for this disruption.

Water Off Notice - Nutgrove Area - Thursday 7th June 2012

Update @ 3.40 pm Thursday 7th June 2012.

Please note that the water has been restored to the Nutgrove area. 

Due to essential maintenance work on the watermain supplying the Nutgrove area, the water supply to your house/premises will be disrupted between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00 approximately on 7th June 2012.

Customers are advised that on completion of the works there may be some initial discolouration of the water. Allowing taps to run for a short period of time can help water to clear.

Thursday will be a wet day countrywide; 40 to 60mm of rain is expected in Munster and Connacht, 30 to 50mm of rain is forecast for Leinster and Ulster.

Valid from 00:00 Thursday 7th June 2012

Until 00:00 Friday 8th June 2012

There is a risk of a further 20 to 30mm on Friday.
