1st June 2012 - Fosters Ave, Roebuck Rd & Goatstown Rd

Water Services Section will be carrying out a leakage survey in the following areas:

Roebuck Road
Goatstown Road and surrounding areas
 
This will involve shutting down the water supply between the hours 1am-7am.

Essential Drainage Works - Tuesday 29th May 2012

The Drainage Operations section of DĂșn Laoghaire Rathdown County Council will be performing essential maintenance works on the sewer system in Carysfort Avenue on Tuesday 29th May 2012, commencing at 8:00 pm.  A high-powered Jet-Vac machine will be used in this operation.

There may be noise, smells and traffic management measures associated with the works but every attempt will be made to ensure that these maintenance works are completed in a timeframe that will minimise disruption to residents on the evening in question.

Water Disruption - Update 25th May 2012 @ 1.00 pm

The water has been turned back on.  Please note it may take some time to replenish storage tanks.

Water Off Notice - Monkstown Area - Update @ 9.45 am - 24th May 2012


Update @ 11.55 am

We wish to advise that the water supply has been turned back on to the Monkstown area.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the water supply affecting the Monkstown area will be disrupted from 10.00 am today for a short while to complete essential mainteance work carried out yesterday.

Water Off - Monkdstown Area - Update 23rd May 2012 @ 9.30 am

Due to essential maintenance work on the watermain supplying the Monkstown area, the water supply will be disrupted between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00 approximately on 23rd May 2012.

Customers are advised that on completion of the works there may be some initial discolouration of the water. Allowing taps to run for a short period of time can help water to clear.

Water Disruptions 16th May 2012

Brides Glen
The Council is aware of the disruption to the water supply in the area.  The disruption is due to ongoing difficulties in the supply from the Vartry Reservoir.  Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is reconfiguring the system in the area in an effort to restore supply.

Ballyman
Due to the problem at the Vartry Reservoir water has been disrupted in the Ballyman area.  A water bowser has been located at the Spanish School (for drinking purposes this water should be boiled).

Rathmichael
Due to the problem at the Reservoir, water has been disrupted to Rathmichael Haven.  Water pressure at night should be sufficient to re-fill households water tanks.  A water bowser is located at the junction of Rathmichael Haven and Rathmichael Dale (for drinking purposes this water should be boiled).

The Council apologises for this disruption to the water supply.

Monday 14th and Tues 15th May 2012 - Glenalua Road update 17.25 hrs

As per previous updates, unfortunately, there is a second leak on Glenalua Road which needs to be repaired.

Our Area Engineer has advised that the water will be turned off again in the Glenalua area at 23.00 hrs (mon night) and the water crew will be on site at 8.00 am (tues) to repair this leak.

Water will be restored as soon as this leak is repaired Tues 15th.

The Council apologises for the disruptions to the water over the last few days.

Monday 14th May 2012 - Glenalua Road, Killiney 14.40 hrs

Unfortunately, water has been turned off in Glenalua Road in order to necessitate the instatllation of a new water valve following the repair of a leak on Friday 11th May 2012.

At this stage, it appears there may be a further leak on the system and the water crew are investigating this.

Water should be restored as soon as possible.

We have been informed by the Water Inspector that the water should be returned to households before 7.00 pm this evening.  Please note it may take some time for the system to refill after this long disruption. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

Due to continuing emergency works the above area will be without mains water supply.

Water Disruption - Glenalua, Dalkey, and surrounding areas.

As of 17.00 hrs, the Water Crew are still working on repairing this main.   Our Water Inspector hopes to have water restored to all households by 19.00 hrs this evening.

The Council apologises for this disruption to the water supply.

Water Burst - Ballinclea Heights & Surrounding Areas - Update @ 9.15 am Thursday 10th May 2012

Water has been turned back on in the Ballinclea area at 16.15 hrs.  However,  it may take some time for water to get to all households due to the refilling of the system. 

We have been informed by our Water Inspector as of 10.00 am this morning that this burst necessitates replacing  a large section of the watermain pipe.  The crew are currently working on this and unfortunately, at this stage, it looks like the water will be off for most of today.

More updates will follow.  The Council apologises for this disruption.

Please be aware that we have a burst watermain in the Ballinclea area which is also affecting surrounding areas.  Residents may experience loss of water or low water pressure during the day until this burst is fixed.

18:45 Possible Water Supply Disruption in Ballyman/Rathmichael

Whilst some residents in the Ballyman/Rathmichael area may have experienced disruption to their water supply today due to a burst watermain in Newtownmountkennedy, we are pleased to advise that the pipe has been fixed and supply has been restored.

As the system moves to full capacity, you may still experience some flow difficulties over the next few hours and accordingly we have placed a blue water bowser on the Ballyman Road at the entrance to the Spanish school for your convenience.

Water Disruption - Monaloe Way - Friday 4th May 2012

Due to a burst watermain the water has been turned off in the Monaloe Way area in order to necessitate repair.  This may cause loss of pressure or no water in the immediate and surrounding areas.

The crew are currently on site repairing the main and it is hoped to have the water restored as soon as possible.  Unfortunately, an exact time when water will be restored cannot be given at this stage.

Water off York Road, Dun Laoghaire - 3rd May 2012 at 16.00 hrs

Water has now been restored to all households 16.41 hrs.

Water has been turned off on York Road, Dun Laoghaire due to a burst watermain.

The water crew are currently on site repairing the main and it is hoped that water will be restored as soon as possible.  Although an exact time cannot be given at this stage, it is hoped that all households will have their water back by 18.00 hrs approx.
