17:45 Sat 18th December - Treatment of roads in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

Met Eireann have advised that there will be freezing temperatures again tonight and early morning, with risk of snowfall. Our gritting crews are out again this evening treating primary routes across the County and it is now confirmed that current salt supplies within the County are adequate for the next few days, if used moderately. Close contact is being maintained with the National Roads Authority (NRA) to inform them of our salt supply requirements.

Drivers are asked not to undertake unnecessary journeys and to drive slowly and with caution in the event of having to venture out on the roads.
