The severe weather conditions have improved today and most primary roads across the County are in far better condition. The current thaw has assisted pedestrians on footpaths, traffic is much lighter and buses are running satisfactorily .
The Council continues to receive salt deliveries to replenish the stocks used twice daily. Our crews are clearing as much snow as possible from the roads while it is still slushy, to prevent ice and snow from compacting in the event of further snowfall and low temperatures, which are predicted for tonight and tomorrow morning.
