Update on Water Supply Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown 14th December 2010 updated 15.00

The raised demand for water in the Dublin region has continued through the thaw over the last number of days. The pressure reductions and shut offs have had the effect of curtailing somewhat the reductions in storage in the local and regional reservoirs. While water crews have been working continuously to repair bursts that have arisen due to the extreme weather conditions, it is necessary to maintain the regime of severe pressure reductions mains shut offs in various parts of the County.
