13:15 19/01/10 - Water Restoration Notice

Water is being restored to those areas of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County which were without water or on reduced pressure overnight with the exception of Old Quarry Dalkey ( burst mains repair). However, it will take some hours for supply to be restored to all affected areas and in some cases even longer.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council contains a high proportion of older housing stock with associated older plumbing systems. Householders living in these older houses are likely to experience delays in the restoration of full water supply and in particular the re-filling of storage tanks.

Other problems, such as air-locking of pipes, can result in a lack of water in bathroom and toilet fittings. For further information on how to solve an air locking problem please refer to Advice on Getting rid of Airlocks

Water tankers will be in place today, Tuesday 19 January, in Cuala, Hyde Park Road, Dalkey from 12:00 - 19:00.

Mobile tankers available on request for nursing homes or hospitals. Please contact Water Services directly on (01) 205 4800.
