We wish to apologise to those households who have been without water for over 48 hours in the Killiney/Ballinclea area of the County, where a significant leakage has been identified, resulting in loss of water supply across the area.
Leakage Inspectors are actively working to identify the source of the leakage and once specific areas are eliminated from an association with the source of the leak, it should be possible to restore supply on an incremental basis. We are hopeful that some households within this area will have water this evening.
Water tankers will again be distributing supplies tomorrow, Sunday 17 January, as follows:
Dalkey - Cuala Car Park Hyde Road - 10.00 a.m - 6.00 p.m
Killiney Station Road, adjacent to Dart Station - 10.00 a.m - 6.00 p.mDalkey: Dalkey Hill Car Park 10:00 a.m to 6.00 p.m
Avondale Road (Cluny School) 10.00 to 5.00.p.m
Please ensure that the following precautions are taken when using water from roadside tankers:
Water must be boiled for - Drinking; preparation of foods which are not boiled in the process of cooking, like salads; brushing of teeth; making of ice; any activity that might see water swallowed.Great care should also be taken with boiled water to avoid burns and scalds, as accidents can easily happen, especially with small children
The Gallops
We are aware that households in The Gallops estate in Sandyford have been without water this morning and afternoon. This has been caused by a pump failure. The Council are endeavouring to restore water to this area for a short period this evening but wish to advise householders that supplies will be cut off again from 19:00 this evening until mid morning on Sunday 17/10/10. We wish to apologise for the continued inconvenience.
