Gritting crews will be out again tonight and tomorrow morning across the County. Residents are however advised not to make any unnecessary journeys by car tonight as snow showers and dropping temperatures have resulted in difficult road conditions, with considerable traffic congestion in some areas as people make their way home after work.

Update on severe weather conditions Sat 27/11/2010 18.40p.m
Met Eireann have advised that the spell of cold weather is forecast to continue until at least Thursday next and further snowfall showers are expected to affect the east coast of the country and to extend some distance inland. Tomorrow (Sunday), through to Monday is expected to have particularly severe conditions.
Our engineers are assessing the situation in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown on a continual basis throughout this weekend and we can confirm that our crews will be out salting/gritting and deploying snow ploughs as necessary.
There is a small risk of further thunderstorms, which caused some damage last night and freezing fog may also arise in areas not affected by snow, depending on local wind conditions.
We are advising citizens to only undertake journeys that are absolutely necessary, to check in on vulnerable and elderly neighbours and to keep informed via the transport website at http://www.transport.ie/
